Who are we?

Josh Evans was a young diabetic man from Somerset, England. He was tragically killed on October 24th 2008 in a car accident whilst driving, as a result of suffering a hypoglycaemic attack. He was aged twenty-one. This trust has been established in Josh's memory.

Josh was diagnosed with diabetes aged eleven when collapsing after a school rugby match. In the subsequent years he refused to let his condition get in the way of life, and was always prepared to take on the challenges his condition posed him. Josh was local to North Petherton (Somerset), and spent most of his social life in Taunton as that is where he went to school and college. He was well known to North Petherton Rugby Club. He was much loved by his family and friends, and his loss has left them determined to make a positive difference to local children with diabetes.

The Josh Evans Trust Fund has already accumulated over £12 thousand through a variety of fundraising events.
We aim to grow this trust substantially over time to help support the current NHS infrastructure by providing additional support, literature and knowledge to help diabetic children and their families in the local region. For example, funding may be made available to support a child trialling a new technology.
